Husbands, Pray for Your Spouse

Prayer Minute : PM#0024
James 5:16

Today I have a question for husbands. Do you ever pray for your spouse? From time to time, we have heard that husbands should be praying for their wives.

Did you know that praying for your spouse can accomplish much? When we pray from the heart, the Bible in James 5:16 says "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

Now is there something your spouse has really sought for from her heart? Why not join with her and take to the Lord in prayer, and let your spouse know you are praying for it. I believe the Lord will bring a real blessing if you do.

Father, may we husbands pray for our wives and lift them up to. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Praying Together, Marriage

A good marriage is important to most of us, and there are a number of ways that we can pray for marriage which can help. Take the time to search this Blog for various examples of prayer for marriage and other life issues. An index located on the right side of this blog has been provided for your use. May the Lord help each of us as we pray for our marriages. The Prayer Minute below is an example of prayer for a marriage that we can pray.

Prayer Minute : PM#0021
II Thes 1:11

Do you want a good marriage?

I think everyone wants a good marriage, but from current statistics it appears that truly good marriages are few and far between. We need God’s help to have a good marriage. There is a prayer which the Apostle Paul prayed that can apply to marriage. It is found in II Thes 1:11 "Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power." We need to ask the Lord to be involved in our marriages so they can be what they should be. A good marriage is a worthwhile goal and a worthy calling, and we can have God’s help with our marriage when we pray.

Father, may we learn to let you help us pray for our marriages that they may be all that you want them to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Praying Together

Prayer Minute : PM#0020
Matt 18:20

I know I should pray, but I don't know how or what to pray for. How many times have you felt that way? Especially about praying with your spouse?

If this is true, how do you go about praying with your spouse? Here’s an idea that will take both husband and wife working together. Each of you could write down what you want the other to pray about, then exchange lists and pray for the requests together. When you will hear your spouse praying for you, it will encourage you. Jesus encouraged us when He said in Matt 18:20: "For where two or three are gathered together in my Name. there am I in the midst of them." As we pray together, Jesus will be there helping us. He cares about us.

Father, encourage us to be open with our spouse and to pray together. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer for Children

Prayer Minute : PM#0018
Ps 90:16

Our children face many pressures from their classmates. It could be drugs, alcohol, peer pressure or a host of other things. As Christians, we are told to be on guard against evil influences, and that includes protecting our children. One way to protect from evil influences is to let God help us by asking His help through prayer.

Ps 90:16 shows a prayer which can benefit our children. It says: “Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children." When children see God’s work first hand, it will have a positive influence on them.

Perhaps you would like to join with me in the following prayer:

Father, I ask that your work is made clear to your servant and your glory appear to our children, that they may desire you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
